Author Tom Hutson’s new book “Sermons for a God-Centered Life” is a collection of sermons that bring the Bible to life and can be a catalyst for deeper Bible study
NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Tom Hutson has completed his new book “Sermons for a God-Centered Life”: a gripping and potent collection of sermons that are both in-depth for those advanced in their spiritual journey and easy to understand for those beginning on the road to discovering Jesus. The author’s knowledge of history allowed him to explain the background of events that took place and offer a deeper meaning than one might realize when reading the scriptures.
Tom Hutson, who sadly passed away in 2018, felt that his entire life was preparing him for ministry—from his early careers as a reservoir ranger with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to being a biology teacher, football coach, and finally, school administrator with Metro Nashville Public Schools, then to his final destination as associate director of the Master of Arts in Education at Cumberland University and pastor at Saundersville United Methodist Church.
Throughout his life and careers, Dr. Hutson was a natural teacher with a way of imparting knowledge that allowed the learner to understand even complex issues and left them with a hunger to learn more. That along with his generosity, empathy, compassion, patience, humor, and devotion to Jesus gave him the foundation to write the inspiring sermons contained in this book.
Author Tom Hutson writes, “Without realizing it, we let those close to us become simply dispensers of information, transportation, hugs, money, or services. It often takes a storm to restore our values. In the pursuit of our selfish interests, the ‘ship,’ whatever it may be—the project, the schedule, the deadline, the organization, the budget, whatever—may be lost on the rocks. Yes, that will be costly, but it’s okay. It is our people we cannot afford to lose. If the storm blows us back to them, we have all we really need. We can always find another ‘ship.'”
Published by Page Publishing, Tom Hutson’s compelling work reflects his love for life and for all people, interest in everything, giving nature, humor, compassion, wisdom, and common sense, which made him an especially caring and effective pastor. His congregation appreciated his wise counsel, concern for any issues they faced, and gentle guidance of their spiritual growth. His sermons brought them closer to Jesus, gave them guidance and strength, and taught them how to be humble servants and how to spread Jesus’s love to all.
Readers who wish to experience this meaningful work can purchase “Sermons for a God-Centered Life” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
